In Ohio
I made it to Huron, Ohio. It was a long drive because it has been a long couple of weeks. The good thing is that I left early so I have a few hours to relax before going to bed early. I have been listening to talk radio. This one guy was complaining about how people give gift cards instead of just giving cash. I wish I could have had the phone number and called in. I'm all about gift cards because most likely I would not spend the cash that people would give me on something fun but I would spend it on gas or something. Which is okay but it gives me a reason for buying something fun that I would not normally buy. This year I got 2 gift cards to Barnes and Nobles. I'm very excited about it because I love to read and go have coffee.
So I have a question. In Iowa, the last two weeks I have had to say POP if I wanted something to drink. It has been really strange because no one in Maryland says POP but they say SODA. I went down to the front desk to ask the guy if they had a soda machine. As I was going down there I was thinking do I ask if they have a POP machine or a SODA machine. People know what I mean but which one is right for this area. After asking him if they had a SODA machine and getting a Coke I went back and asked him if they say POP or SODA. He said people around here they say POP but where he is from they say COKE . So where is the line that it switches from POP to SODA to COKE???
I will be back in Maryland tomorrow afternoon.
I can't sleep. I don't know why but I decided to google Pop Soda and the website www.popvssoda.com came up. It shows a map of who says what. Very interesting. Statistically more people in the United States say Pop. It looks like the change starts to happen once you reach Pennsylvania. As you can tell, I get bored fast and have to find something to do. Ha Ha What do you all say, Pop or Soda and where are you from?
Look at this website too http://popvssoda.com/countystats/total-county.html

Hahah! The whole Pop or Soda or Coke thing drives me crazy! I say soda, but I had friends at college who insisted it was pop and we would get in big arguments. It's so strange who it's a regional thing though. I'd hate to live on the Pop and Soda boundary. You would have to check yourself constantly.
Oh and yes! Friends marathon!! Sounds like fun :)
